Ms. Evelyn J. Pabon Figueroa is an Associate in the Orlando office of CPLS, P.A. She is a member of the firm’s Immigration, Bankruptcy and Consumer Protection, and Litigation Practice groups. Ms. Pabon Figueroa also works closely with the Business Law Practice Group.
Ms. Pabon Figueroa’s extensive practice includes providing creative solutions to complex immigration law problems. She has worked with numerous clients, dedicating her practice to assisting individuals and businesses of all sizes to meet their immigration needs.
Ms. Pabon Figueroa handles a broad array of immigration cases, including deportation defense, family based petitions, employment based petitions for temporary and permanent workers, employer compliance, and waivers of grounds of inadmissibility.
Ms. Pabon Figueroa has extensive experience representing clients at immigration interviews and in removal proceedings in court as well as preparation of all documents necessary for family and employment-based petitions for foreign national employees.
Ms. Pabon Figueroa represents numerous clients in the area of bankruptcy and consumer protection, dedicating her practice to assisting individuals and a variety of businesses including secured institutional lenders, real estate investment trusts, and commercial lessors.
Ms. Pabon Figueroa handles a broad array of bankruptcy cases, including frequent complex Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 consumer bankruptcy cases, creditor representation, loan modifications, and lien stripping.
Ms. Pabon Figueroa has extensive experience with debtor preparation for and representation at 341 hearings (i.e., creditors’ meeting), preparation of all documents necessary to file a bankruptcy petition, preparation of Chapter 13 plans, representation of clients at confirmation hearings and other court proceedings, motions to strip lien, and debtor preparation for and representation at loan modification mediation.
Throughout her practice career, Ms. Pabon Figueroa has successfully handled hundreds of Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases, obtaining the discharge of her clients. She has also successfully obtained numerous mortgage loan modifications and stripped second liens on debtor’s property.
Ms. Pabon Figueroa is active in various professional and community organizations. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and recently became an AILA Central Florida Unlicensed Practice of Law & Essay Contest Committee Member. She provides seminars to the community regarding Citizenship, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), Family Based Immigration, and Employment and Business Based Immigration. She has spoken at community events on topics regarding bankruptcy, foreclosure, social security, disability, and immigration. She volunteers at the OCBA Teen Parent Education Project. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
In law school, Ms. Pabon Figueroa worked as an English teacher for the Puerto Rico public education system and as part of her studies, she also completed an internship with the Miami-Dade Public Defenders Office and a clinical program with the University of Puerto Rico School of Law Legal Assistance Office representing indigent criminal defendants.
