Ms. Rosemonde Cely is a Partner in the Orlando office of CPLS, P.A. She is a member of the Firm’s Person Injury Litigation, Business Law, Contract Law, and Family Law, Groups. Ms. Cely has over eight years of personal injury and general litigation experience.
Her experience was gained representing clients in several privately held law firms where her practice included personal injury, family Law, general litigation, business law, criminal law, construction law, contract law, corporate governance, and commercial law, first as an associate, then as co-managing partner, general legal counsel and advisor, and partner.
Prior to this, Ms. Cely was Certified Legal Intern in Orlando State Attorney’s Office where she prosecuted criminal cases (including Jury Trials).
Ms. Cely is experienced in automobile negligence, premise liability, product liability, negligent security, wrongful death, medical malpractice, mass torts, contract law, criminal law, and general litigation such as family law, probate law, and contract litigation. She has extensive experience in civil litigation and trial experience. The bulk of her practice focuses on personal injury law.
Significant cases Ms. Cely has been involved with include Avandia Mass tort claims which resulted in a multi-million dollar settlement for those affected. She represents clients in serious personal injury cases which include but are not limited to truck/auto accident, premises liability, and negligent security and medical malpractice. Ms. Cely has earned recognition by her peers as a member of the Florida Bar Leadership Academy.
She was also singled out by RYSE Magazine for the Attorney on the Rise feature. Ms. Cely is an active member of the legal community and has earned recognition from her peers. She serves as Chief of Staff of The Virgil Hawkins Florida Chapter of the National Bar Association. She is a member of the Trial Section of the Florida Bar, Florida Bar Education Committee, and the Florida Bar Leadership Academy.
She was also singled out by RYSE Magazine as an Attorney on the Rise. Ms. Cely served as the Inaugural Fellow of the Virgil Hawkins Florida Chapter of the National Bar Association Fellowship Program at Florida A & M Law School Clinic. As the inaugural fellow she helped to develop the program, provided legal services to indigent clients in the areas of Family Law and Landlord/Tenant law and instructed law students serving in the law clinic. Ms. Cely is also a regular guest lecturer at Florida A&M University College of Law lecturing on topics related to civil litigation.
Ms. Cely is active in various organizations and activities in her community. She has served in many community and non-profit boards. She is a dedicated community speaker on issues of justice and the law for both the Haitian and African American communities. She speaks Creole fluently and has proficiency in French and Spanish.
